The Helsinki Optical Fibre Cooperative: winner in the Openness and competition category
The Helsinki Optical Fibre Cooperative built a fibre network in an old area of owner-occupied single-family houses in Pitäjänmäki in Helsinki in 2014−2015. The project received no public funding − the inhabitants of the area funded and implemented the project themselves. Volunteering played an important role in the implementation of the project.
