Energy-Wise Business Concepts Rule at Peloton Innovation Camp

The Peloton Innovation Camp Kaustinen now ended, consistently produced first-rate ideas.

Three very different energy-wise business start-up concepts were chosen as winners: Energy-Wise Property Managers (Energiaisännöitsijät), Greenhouse in a Supermarket (Kasvihuone supermarketissa), and Garden on the Roof (Piha Katolle).

The Field Deal (Peltodiili) concept received an honourable mention.

As a prize, the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra will create a tailor-made start-up factory for the winners, together with investors, business angels and representatives of public funding bodies. With the help of this acceleration centre, the winning team will be able to grow its idea into a business.

The intensive three days turned great ideas into eight business concepts that, if realised, have the potential to make our society more energy-efficient. Preparations for the first contract negotiations were already being made at the camp.

The Peloton Innovation Camp Kaustinen was organised by: Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Rural Network of Finland, the Finnish Innovation Fund (Sitra), Ministry of Employment and the Economy, the National Thematic Network of Innovation and Competence, the sub-region of Kaustinen, the municipality of Kaustinen, the Rural Women’s Advisory Organisation, ProAgria, The Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners (MTK), and KP24. The camp organiser was Demos Helsinki.
